Why do I Offer Some Retreats on a "U-choose-tuition" basis? |

You may have noticed on my website that some of my retreats are offered on a "U-choose-tuition" basis. Is it because I don't believe in the value of the work that I do for people and therefore have to offer it cheap? No... Read the numerous testimonials and case studies I have on my website and you will realize that hundreds of people have benefited immensely from my retreats, seminars and counselling. Is it because the workshops I give are brand new with untested techniques? No... The methods and processes I have tried and tested on myself and employed them to help others for over 20 years. I use them for one reason. They work. Is it because I use tuition-free retreats as a loss-leader and at the end of the retreat when you are open, vulnerable and feeling like you are indebted to the workshop trainer for the free seminar, I want to pressure you to enroll in very expensive future programs which you can only enroll in at a huge reduction (which is the real price) right at the end of the retreat, without a refund if you decide later you made a mistake? No... There are a number of seminar leaders that use these tactics and I consider them to be manipulative and unethical. I won't do this. What is the real reason then? Let me answer this with a question. Have you ever spent a lot of money on a personal development workshop or service and felt at the end, you never got your money's worth? This is the reason. Unfortunately, there many people who decide to lead a seminar and make grandiose claims in order to attract participants and at the end of the seminar people are disappointed. I have made a promise to myself that this will never happen to anyone who participates in my retreats. People will always get more value than they anticipated from my retreats. Why? Because I believe that your money is more than just currency...it is your life energy. It is the energy that you have used to help others. You have worked hard and in exchange you have received something called money, which is symbol of your expended energy. Therefore in my mind, it is sacred and I honour you and your life energy this way. I believe the value you get for your money should increase your life energy not take it away. So how do I receive payment then for my expended energy to you? This is how the retreats that I offer work. (I do not offer them all this way) You pay for only your meals, lodging and a portion of my office and staffing costs for the retreat, in other words, my basic cost of running the retreat for you. I will let you know at the beginning of the workshop what I consider to be the real cost of the retreat (because some people would prefer to pay this upfront) and at the end of the event, you make a contribution to me based on the perceived value you received from the retreat. You can pay me less or more than the real cost. What is the reason for this? I feel it is a more honest way of running a retreat and it will give you more confidence that you will receive the best of my expertise and ability. I, of course just like you, need to make a good living and if I know that the living I make is based on the value I contribute to your life, judged by you at the end of the event then I am going to have to work hard to make sure this happens. I will be obligated to deliver what I say is written in my promotional material. Because if I don't, it's simple... I don't get paid. This system is much better than any empty guarantee. And it gives you the confidence that you have nothing to lose when you enroll in my seminars. My success in life must be 100% proportional to the amount of success you receive as the result the retreat. In this way, as a seminar and retreat leader I am more accountable to you.
